Washing instructions

  • Polyester face masks are more advisable over cotton face masks
  • Polyester is an inherently hydrophobic material in that it repels water droplets whereas cotton is a natural fiber and more likely to absorb water droplets
  • The new coronavirus is a respiratory virus which spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes
  • Ideally the filter should be washed no more than 5 times before being replaced. This ultimately depends on its condition after regular use and washing, and may deteriorate before
  • To ensure the filter doesn’t deteriorate prematurely, it is advised to wash the filter whilst still inside the face mask. Avoid scrubbing the filter as this will loosen the fibers
